Upon arrival at Ushuaia, you will be met by a representative and transferred to your hotel where you will be provided with cabin tags. Clearly fill in the cabin tags with your name and ship cabin number.
At approximately 6.00 pm, you’ll gather and meet your fellow voyagers at our briefing. Afterward, enjoy time to explore the local cuisine at one of Ushuaia’s many beautiful restaurants.
Kindly ensure your cabin luggage is fitted with your clearly filled cabin tags. After breakfast, you will undergo our final, mandatory pre-embarkation health screening and COVID rapid antigen testing before commencing check-our procedures.
Upon landing in King George Island, our experienced expedition team will greet you and begin your Zodiac transfer aboard the luxury Greg Mortimer. You’ll have enough time to settle into your cabin before our important briefings. Make yourself feel at home at your well-appointed staterooms with ensuite bathrooms and look out to the ocean in true expedition style via your porthole window.

The fresh, crisp atmosphere of the South is a lingering feeling that stays with you forever. Admire the delightful icy sights of the white continent as we arrive in Antarctica. Relish the excitement and take it all in.
The western side of Antarctica and the South Shetland Islands are all yours to explore, with several exploration choices available to you. You will experience 18-24 hours of daylight with custom-planned days that can be busy and adventure-packed as much as you like.

Kit up before landings and Zodiac cruises along grounded icebergs and spectacular ice cliffs, usually done twice a day. Zodiac will also transport you to land, where along the way you can watch for whales, seals, and penguins coming in and out of the water.
While ashore, we plan to saunter along pebbly beaches, hike up snow-covered ridgelines, visit penguin rookeries, discover historic huts, and other desired spots along the peninsula. Polar plungers will also have the chance to dive in polar waters. Other optional activities will also be done if the conditions permit.
If conditions permit, be captivated by unworldly sights as you sail along the dramatic, narrow straits that separate the mainland from the offshore islands to scenic bays. Enjoy the views of this beautiful icy region and its wildlife in the observation lounge or the bridge if the Captain allows.
You'll cross the northernmost latitude (approx 66°30′ S) in the Southern Hemisphere, the Antarctic Circle. Being among the few who have experienced this, the gracious moment will be celebrated with a toast on the deck. At this location of the equator, you will notice slight changes in the seascapes, landscapes, and wildlife. The waters are rich and filled with unique wildlife. Enjoy the views of penguins such as the Adèlie, Chinstrap, Emperor, Gentoo penguins jostling around, humpback, and minke whales coming in and out of the water.
Take your time to feel the waves of the sea and get comfortable with the motions as we sail through the Drake Passage for a journey back to South America. Savour the time to absorb the majesty of the Southern Ocean and wildlife with lectures and film presentations to complete your Antarctic voyage. Weather and time permitting, your Captain may sail close to the legendary and mystical Cape Horn as you approach the tip of South America.
Watch the beautiful sunrise at the Beagle Channel as we cruise up to the Beagle Channel, take in and appreciate the sights of the dramatic landscape of mountains and glaciers of the Island before swiftly docking in Ushuaia.
You will be free to disembark at 8.00 am, bid farewell to your fellow adventurers, the expedition team, and crew as we all depart and go on our separate journeys. Leaving inspired and connected to the beauty of nature, you will be transferred to your hotel or Ushuaia airport.

The coldest continent on Earth, Antarctica has two seasons: summer and winter. The Antarctica travel season occurs in summer from October to February where you will find average temperatures ranging from -10 degrees Celsius to -60 degrees, depending on how far into the continent you travel. January is the warmest season, with temperatures climbing up to 0 degrees Celsius on the Antarctic Peninsula.

Helicopter evacuations are expensive and in most cases will be at a cost to the customer.For Australian residents, under the Australian Government Medicare Act, it is prohibited for any domestic travel insurance product to provide any financial reimbursement with regard to ambulance or air ambulance services. We therefore strongly advise our customers to take specific ambulance cover through their health insurance provider. Evacuation cost will not be covered by the Onlyluxe Travel and therefore it is also strongly recommended that our customers take out travel insurance to cover (amongst other things) the costs associated with evacuation.Travel InsuranceIn view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommends suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation. We also strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance against loss of baggage and medical expenses.
